Experienced my first real social interactive Super Bowl yesterday as I had my laptop linked to Facebook, Twitter and NFL.com sites throughout the game as I sat in front of the TV. Proud to also say I spilled almost nothing on it (maybe a little dip, I had a cracker malfunction during halftime). For me it made the game more fun, interesting, entertaining and actually relaxing. Being able to bloviate at will online whether celebrating a nice play, critique everyone involved, commiserate with those who "feel your pain" or just abuse somebody in New Orleans brings game involvement to a new level without having to wait in line for a beer.

It is Super Bowl XLIV Weekend and even though my hometown favorite did not make it to Miami this season I will be watching the game along with millions of others. The difference is that this will be my first interactive Super Bowl. Yes my laptop (to the almost certain disdain of my wife) will be placed in front of me in the middle of the coffee table surrounded by all of the other Super Bowl essentials (chips, nachos, cheese, wings, crackers, beer, wine, etc).

Former NBA star Jalen Rose shared what he called the "8 Social Media Resources for Super Bowl XLIV" on the Mashable Blog this morning and for all of those who want to bring a new dimension to your Super Bowl experience while relaxing in from of your TV I suggest you read his article and stake out a spot for the laptop prior to game time.
