Received this as an email. Not sure its origin, but it helped answer a question that had been puzzling me for years. We do not realize how hard Santa works all year round and that this can be a stressful time of the year. We all have our moments and this was his…..
Many years ago just days before Christmas Eve Santa Claus was in a tizzy. Four of Santa’s elf management team had got sick on a business trip to Mexico (tequila and elves do not go well), the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones and with no operational leadership on the production floor and a terrible lack of specific processes to follow and poor quality control, Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure and almost turned to China to offset his poor production flow as they had ample capacity and even offered to loan him resources to build a second production facility at the South Pole to improve efficiency.
Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more. Needless to say the Tums were popping at the North Pole that week. Needless to say Santa loves little children, but not his mother-in-law.
When Santa went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out roaming the Pole, Heaven knows where. When he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.
Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a nice shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the liquor.. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom. He was at his breaking point!
Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a beautiful little Angel with a great big Christmas tree. The Angel smiled at Santa and said very cheerfully, ‘Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn’t this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?’
Santa just smiled back….and so began the tradition of the little angel sitting atop of the Christmas tree.
Not a lot of people know this, but you now do.
